Zodiac Signs
Report designed to resemble an app, emphasizing limited exploration and a focus on clicking to view content.
Design Approach
I love anything with stars, the universe, and the cosmos. I love the idea of this universe, black holes, time theories and interstellar. So when I want to create an app kind of report, instead of going for some random data, I went for star signs. All data is purely just web scraping.
Design Approach:
When I designed this report, Power BI's UX was not as mature (compared to the time I am writing this NOV 2024); it was a nice challenge to create something that would look like an app.
There are many times when end users may just want to view an item. It could be products, a cluster, or a legal entity with minimal but useful information. Instead of looking at some random data, I thought I would look at Zodiac Signs.
The design approach was simple.
First, I considered the palette. What kind of palette should I be using? I found this image on Google search and used that as inspiration.
Next, layout:

To give my report an app-like appearance, I chose center-aligned group buttons and large, bold text. I decided to apply a star-themed glow to my bold text, selecting a glowing gold color. All backgrounds were designed in Canva.
